ELC-3047 | Constructing 3D Uniform Polyhedra |
A uniform polyhedron is a polyhedron which has regular polygons as faces and is transitive on its vertices. Since all vertices are congruent, these types of polyhedrons are ideal for studying reflectional and rotational symmetry. If you are talking about symmetry with your students and want to give them work that will reinforce these concepts, then working on these 3D constructions is an option. Some of these constructions take time to make, however, there is a great amount of geometry that can be discovered by constructing these shapes.
This set of blackline masters contains 3 of these solids:
- Small Ditrigonal Icosidodecahedron
- Small Rhombidodecahedron
- Small Rhombihexahedron
All black line masters come in two formats. The black and white models allow your students to color them. The colored model of each solid is pre-colored by us, and is ready to cut out and glue together. discussions.
