EC-0660 Short Phonic Reading Series (Pink)
This is the series that is usually referred to as the “Pink”; also known as the short phonetic series. The emphasis here is introducing children to words that are constructed from three letters or less which contain short vowel sounds. Students are given many opportunities to explore beginning and ending sounds as well. This series contains six main sections.
EC-0662 Longer Phonics Readers (Blue)
This is the series more commonly referred to as the “Blue” series; also known as the longer phonetic series. The emphasis here is placed on introducing blends with short vowel words of four or more letters followed by longer words that contain more syllables.
EC-0664 Phonogram Reading Series (Green)
This is the series more commonly referred to by many as the “Green” series; also known as the Phonogram series. With more than 80 objects to accompany the activities, the materials in this series were developed not only using the traditional approach to phonemic awareness but also include activities that are based on current brain research.
