The set is designed as 3 part cards depicting 20 animals and the sounds they make, for a total of 66 cards including labels. The labels are double sided, with the front having the proper sound while the back of the label is showing the phonetic equivalent of the sound. Each picture/text is isolated on a white background while still keeping a natural look and making it easy for the child to identify the object.
Card sizes are as follows:
Whole Card: 9cmx 13cm
Part Card: 9cm x 10 cm
Label: 9 cm x 2.5cm
3-part cards consist of a picture card, a label or word card, and a control card with the picture and the label together. The intended use is to spread the picture cards out, then match each word card to its picture card. Lastly, the child can use the control card to check all of the matches are correct.
Each card comes pre-cut with all the corners rounded. Picture/text is isolated on a white background while still keeping a natural look and making it easy for the child to identify the object.
These cards are printed on 175gsm PVC plastic. Advantages of the plastic cards are: Colour stay stronger, matte finish makes it feel like paper with no glare, easy to clean and disinfect, lays flat and above all it saves staff valuable time laminating, the items are ready to be used.
I have personally tested the plastic durability by submersing it in water for 7 days and left it in direct Queensland sun for 21 days without noticing any fading, discoloration or warping.
